|Mary Birch (Convener)||Although now based in Edinburgh, Mary was formerly a teacher of English and Media Studies at Harlaw Academy in Aberdeen. She has been a member of the AMES Committee for a number of years and makes regular contributions to the Media Education Journal.|
|Des Murphy (Secretary and MEJ editor)||
Des Murphy was head of English and Media at Bridge of Don Academy in Aberdeen, and Curriculum Support Teacher for Media for Aberdeen City. Currently a freelance CPD provider, he is Secretary of AMES and editor of the Media Education Journal. Website: desmurphy.co.uk.
|Robert Preece (Treasurer)||Robert was PT Geography at Inverness Royal Academy, but for many years also taught Media Studies. He retired from full-time teaching in 2003, but still retains an interest in Media Studies through AMES. He has been Treasurer since 1997.|
|Rick Instrell (newsletter editor & website administrator)||
Rick was Principal Teacher of Computing at Lasswade High School Centre, Midlothian. He is also a mathematics teacher, a founder member of AMES and has co-written Computing and Media Studies courses and units for SCOTBEC, SCOTVEC and SQA. He co-wrote the original Media Studies NQ arrangements. Rick is a freelance CPD provider and educational consultant. |Kirsty Brown||Kirsty is Principal Teacher of English at Hyndland Secondary School is Glasgow and is a member of the Glasgow City Council Media Studies group. She marks Media for SQA at both Higher and National 5 levels.|
|Wendy Elrick||Wendy is an English teacher at Inverurie Academy in Aberdeenshire.|
|Steve James||Steve teaches Film Studies, Communication and Marketing in the Department of Creative Industries at Dumfries & Galloway College. He is also a piano teacher and has co-written music for several TV series.|
|Julie Laing||Julie is a Curriculum Enhancement Lecturer in media and creative industries at West College Scotland. She is SQA Media marker and member of the design team for HN Creative Industries. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Research in Creative Practices at Glasgow School of Art.|
|Lorraine Teviotdale||Lorraine is currently a lecturer in English and Communications at Dundee and Angus College, Arbroath. She previously taught English in the secondary school sector.
